Milestone acceptance request
Projects request template
A milestone acceptance confirms that a defined stage of a project has been delivered and accepted, often unlocking the next phase or a payment.
A milestone acceptance is a sign-off against a specific stage of a project rather than the whole engagement. It records that the agreed deliverables for that milestone have been met and that the client or sponsor accepts them. On staged projects this document is what moves the work forward and, frequently, what triggers a progress payment.
Formal milestone acceptance matters because it converts progress into something agreed and dated, instead of an assumption. For the delivery team it confirms a stage is closed and can be invoiced; for the client it is a checkpoint to confirm quality before the next phase begins. Capturing a signature at each milestone builds a clear record of how the project advanced and where any concerns were raised.

Electronic signatures are generally recognised under Australian electronic transactions law when the signer consents and is reliably identified. Signed milestone acceptance is commonly used as evidence a stage was approved, but this is general information, not legal advice.
Not on its own. Cosign records and timestamps the acceptance, but whether it releases a payment depends on the terms in your contract or statement of work. The signed receipt is useful supporting evidence for invoicing.
Yes. Cosign sends it as a private link to the signer you nominate and does not index the page for search engines. A password can be added if the milestone detail is commercially sensitive.
Yes, if your document includes space to record qualifications. Cosign sends the document as-is, so any conditions you write into the milestone record are part of what the signer accepts.
Cosign logs when each signer opens and previews the document, so you can show the sponsor reviewed the milestone record rather than accepting it unseen.
